"Waa di, waa di, waa di..."

Can you tell what the title is? Is is phrase Brynn has picked up from her three brothers and she says it COUNTLESS times a day. You can't just do what she is saying either, you have to tell her you are doing it or she will just repeat it until you verbally acknowledge her. Then you get to witness exciting events like her sliding down the couch on the pillow, jumping on the floor, doing a forward roll, and lately my favorite, trying to make a burping noise. The other day she told (using words, pointing, and dragging) me and each of her brothers to sit on her bedroom floor so she could dance for us. She didn't make daddy sit when he came in though; she made him dance with her.

Brynn is saying so much now and repeating so much I can't keep track of how many words anymore. She has also learned to shake her head yes and no when I ask her questions (though her verbal no is very loud and clear without the head shake) and there is very little she doesn't understand when I ask her a question or ask her to do me a favor.

Today in the parking lot of the grocery store she didn't grab my hand - she grabbed Caleb's. Price grabbed her other hand and all three walked happily into the store. I wish I had my camera. When we got home she decided to show me how to accessorize as illustrated in the picture.

This week was the first week we left her at our babysitters' houses (Doug and I have each been working 1/2 time and coordinating hours so one of us has always been home). She carried her Dora lunchbox with her snack as she headed to "school". We left her for only a couple hours each day but she did great at both. (I don't know how she would do if I dropped her off, but at least with Doug it has worked - I am still going to work before she wakes up and I get the fun part of picking her up). I think it helps having two of her brothers there (Caleb started 2nd grade Monday; Price's preschool doesn't start until September) and she loved the girl toys (well the ones that resembled the boy toys at home; example - the truck that held a Dora doll) at Bonita's and the dog and the baby at Denise's. We will slowly increase the time until my "leave" is over at the end of September and I am back to full time.

By the way, the title is "watch this" for those of you who have not been around a babbling toddler learning English lately!

Kate,

Brynn is so cute! I can't wait to hear our Vivian talking like that!
