She's got a wild side...

Hi all,
If I discount the last hour of this evening, today was a pretty good day for Brynn. The morning we were out running errands and went to a museum. When we got back she was starting to fuss but an overdue trip to the potty changed everything... after that she was a happy camper - giggling, smiling, running, and playing games with us. It was fun to see her come out of her shell. She loved playing with all the things she disliked earlier this week - balloons, bubbles, and a doll (I will say she takes after her dad - her favorite toy is a pretend cell phone that she hangs on her arm all day long).

As she grew tired she was a bit more fussy so she and I went to dinner early (dad is not feeling well). Thank goodness dinner was empty that early because she was all over the place... under the table, standing on the bench grabbing the items hanging on the wall, cleaning up all the rice that dropped on the table, one piece at a time, and putting it on the floor, taking off her shoes and socks, pulling out her hairbands(loved having to showcase my hair styling techniques in public!). I was just so relieved to have her having fun that I let her keep going, just asking her to sit once in a while so I could give her some food, which she willingly did. She also took a bath tonight. Last night I filled the little tub and played with the stacking cups in it by myself while she watched. My goal tonight was just to get her to play with them but then I put her feet in and the rest is history. She does not like to go to sleep and tonight for an hour she screamed but she is asleep now. And I am following right behind her... Good night! Kate

Wonderful news!! Time heals all wounds and you are doing a wonderful job of being Brynn's support system right now.

I hope your dad will soon feel better. I have to agree with Bonita about the baby signs too, not to mention the fact it might help the adults secretly communicate (about bedtime, etc)

Don't worry about the hair....... I see an all girls day in our future with shopping, manicures, pedicures the works!

Best wishes and many blessings to you and your family.

I am so pleased to hear that the boys will have a running partner! And I guess a family cell phone plan will be a good investment!

It is great to know that today was filled with more typical 2 year-old behaviors (at least the positive ones)!

I hope grandpa starts feeling better soon. Grandpa,we are thinking of you! Thanks for the great support that you have been through this trip!!!

I am pleased to hear that you had a good day and that bedtime routine...it is a struggle that many "natural" parents deal with, so sounds like you are on the right track! Keep hanging in there!

My girls are really hoping Brynn will share those pigtail holders...they asked me this morning if we can go to China so they can buy some....HA, HA!

Kate,
I am laughing and crying as I read this. You capture the details and emotions so well. I can't wait to meet Brynn, and talk with you about your trip. It is amazing to me that you are able to keep up this blog with all the things you are going through.

Kate,

I have been following your journey with Brynn. You are really doing a great job. Brynn is very fortunate to having a mother like you. Please say "hello" to my cousin and I hope he feels better soon.

Hey all! Gotta love the cell phone! Family plan here we come.

Took the boys to the barber shop today--Price asked if Brynn could get a haircut like him--that's my boy!

Talk to you in the morning Kate-

We just got back from vacation so I have been catching up on all of your activities...wow! I admire you so much for what you are doing. God is going to bless all of you for opening up your lives to Brynn. As time passes she will truly appreciate the gift she has been given. I am still praying for Jeff to come around so we can go to China too!!

Can't wait to see everyone. Nate wants his "best friends" Price and Evan to come over and play.

Love, Denise
