A Busy Day...
Hi everyone. It was great to open my email today and see the comments to this blog. I can't actually see the blog so now I know it was updated. I am having some technical difficulties - my camera works and my computer works - they just don't want to work together! So no pictures today and hopefully I will be able to figure something out by Monday.
We went to a jade factory and a Cloisenne factory today and to the Great Wall (boy did my legs get a workout!) and to an acrobatic show. It was a very busy day but fun. I should definite improvement with my chopstick skills thought midway through dinner Ming, our adoption agency representative in Beijing, starting putting the food on my plate so maybe I didn't improve as much as I think I did.
We ate dinner with Ming and a friend of hers and earlier today we visited Ming's apartment and office. During the conversations with Ming today I learned that Man Lu is in a rural foster home and Ming thinks her foster family may be there when we meet her, which I was not expecting at all but I was hoping for (with the thought that Man Lu may eventually be more comforted experiencing a "it's okay" from the family she has known for her to come with me and perhaps not feeling like she has been "taken"}. I guess I will see on Monday.
So now it seems I have switched to calling her Man Lu again, I guess 'cause that is what everyone here calls her. Our guide, Mary, thinks her nickname may turn out to be LuLu so we can add another name to the list. Poor girl has no idea of all the confusion to come...
I'll write tomorrow from Nanchang.

Kate,
I'm so glad all is well in China. It sounds like you had a workout yesterday. I can't wait to see photos of Brynn and you! I bet she has grown so much since the last photo. I'll be watching on Monday.
We have loved being able to follow you on your journey. I hope that you can get pictures of Brynn when you meet her. I caught Jeff checking out you blog yesterday!!
Sounds like you had a very busy day. Anyday now you will meet Brynn. I am so excited for you and I sure hope your computer and camera can work together and I can see your pictures. Have fun and we are all happy for you. :)
Great to hear that things are going well! Leia was worried that you would get tired on the Great Wall. Noah spent all morning looking up pix on the internet. Kirby just keeps trying to spot you in the pix. ;-) We are enjoying your trip! Help me out what is the time difference?
Thinking of you!
