My 22+ Pound Weight Gain...

Brynn was extremely clingy to just me today and let me tell you, my arms feel it! Everywhere we went today she insisted I carry her, hence the title of this entry. She had a pretty rough day, cried and fussed most of it; I remember only one smile and that was in the bath this evening.

In reality, I have probably lost weight so far on the trip since I do not have a stash of chocolate to devour out of stress (and I would feel guilty purchasing enough in the presence of our paper-thin guide), you can only get so much food on a plate at a buffet holding a two year old (and repeat trips become a hassle), and actually getting food in my mouth while holding her and feeding her doesn't happen often either! :) She fussed this morning when I finally decided to try the high chair and tonight I resigned myself to another lap night but the hostess sent straight from heaven scooted a chair up right next to mine from another table (let me explain that I have not even been asked if I wanted a high chair at all this trip so I really appreciated her trying to help us out) and miraculously, Brynn sat in it happily. We also discovered tonight she has a fondness for italian bread.

Dad is feeling better and both of us are excited to be going to Guangzhou tomorrow. We both anticipate there will be more to do and see. I am also hoping that a new place will help Brynn settle in more since she will not be in the place that reminds her of her foster family.

I think Brynn may have a cold. I am sure some here will say it is because we failed to follow the "keep the baby warm at all times" and "don't use to much air conditioning" rules, but I tend to think it is more her exposure to new places and thus, new germs.

We got Brynn's passport today. If I had a scanner I would post Brynn's passport picture. I tried to take a picture of it but that didn't work. It perfectly sums up her days with us so far... crooked pony tails and a perfect pout! It is way cute!!!! But then again, how could it be anything but!

More tomorrow from a new place! Kate

Oh those "hold me all day long" days are SOOO tiring!! I guess the silver lining is that she wants YOU to do the holding? Glad she's finding more foods she likes and glad Dad is feeling better, too. I'm so happy you're heading out of there tomorrow to a new location. Saying prayers here that new surroundings help you all enjoy each other a bit more!

Ups and downs will happen, and I pray that a new setting will ease the discomfort for Brynn. Every time I look at Carter I think of the two of you, and am thankful that Brynn has been blessed with such a caring, loving, patient and understanding mommy. You are awesome and I promise to have some chocolate waiting for you when you get back home!

Carley was way excited to learn that Brynn loves the play cell phone as she has several pink ones and has already planned a shopping trip to get Brynn some necessary girlie items (Lord help us both!).

I am glad to hear that g-pa is feeling better and I send my prayers and heartfelt wishes for safe travels for you all to your new venue.

P.S.: The pout is absolutely adorable!

Kate- I hope a new location helps to give you all a fresh start, without too much adjustment!

I look forward to seeing the passport. I am sure that it will always be a treasured photo...1 for the Senior page of the yearbook!

Oh no, Bonita, I respectfully disagree...the pout on June 13 is definitely the one for the yearbook!
